Jakarta – On the first day back after the Idulfitri 1447 H holiday, Secretary General of the Ministry of Law Nico Afinta urged all staff to evaluate their performance and continue improving their skills. He noted that the ministry is nearing the end of the first quarter of 2026, making it important to prepare for upcoming performance assessments and evaluations.
“I ask for the plans that have been executed. There will be assessments and evaluations, and we will discuss them in a meeting with the entire staff in April,” he emphasized during the Ministry of Law’s morning assembly on Monday (March 30, 2026).
Nico emphasized that performance improvements must align with government policies. He revealed that the Ministry is currently preparing an application that will integrate all legal services into a single platform, enabling the public to access the Ministry’s services digitally from anywhere.
In addition, the Ministry of Law also provides free legal services through Legal Aid Posts (Pos Bantuan Hukum/Posbankum). These services are established in every village across Indonesia to ensure access to justice and deliver tangible benefits to the public.
According to Nico, the delivery of public services by the Ministry of Law involves multiple stakeholders. Therefore, inter-ministerial and inter-agency cooperation needs to be optimized.
“In carrying out its duties, the Ministry of Law inevitably intersects with other ministries and agencies. Therefore, it is important to establish Memorandum of Understanding (MoUs), coordinated through the Bureau Of Legal Affairs, Public Communication, and Cooperations, to ensure proper coordination,” Nico stated.
Nico explained that strengthening the quality of human resources is the key to achieving performance targets. He emphasized that every employee must continuously enhance their capacity to address various challenges and issues in the execution of their duties.
“Problems can be resolved through two things: knowledge and experience. To gain knowledge, we must continue learning,” Nico said at the Ministry’s ceremonial ground.
“The Ministry of Law has provided various opportunities, including scholarship programs for pursuing undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral degrees, both domestically and abroad. Please take advantage of these opportunities,” he added.
