Semarang – During the opening of Legal Aid Posts (Posbankum) in Central Java Province, Minister of Law, Supratman Andi Agtas, gave special recognition to the Posbankum in Kramas Village. The Minister even described Kramas as a potential national role model for resolving community legal issues through village-level mediation.
“First, the abilities of the paralegals and village mediators are above average. Second, the way disputes are resolved—and the willingness of both parties to accept the mediation outcomes—is truly remarkable,” Supratman said on Wednesday (November 19, 2025).
Kelurahan Kramas, located in Tembalang District, Semarang City, was highlighted by the Minister for its community’s willingness to accept the outcomes of mediation conducted at the local legal aid post. One example he mentioned was a land dispute between neighboring residents.
“Each party is willing to resolve issues peacefully and with sincerity. It is rare to see land disputes settled in such a harmonious way,” the Minister said at Gradhika Bhakti Praja Hall, in the Central Java Governor’s Office Complex.
“With a population of more than 38 million, managing Central Java is not an easy task. Every individual has different thoughts and aspirations. What matters most is building togetherness, and ensuring that our lives carry meaning for others,” he added.
Earlier, Central Java Deputy Governor Taj Yasin Maimoen, widely known as Gus Yasin, stated that access to justice is a necessity and a public demand. He recalled that legal assistance in the past was mostly concentrated in urban areas.
“Now, Posbankum exists in every village and subdistrict. The main challenge is: who is willing to come and report their problems? In many communities, discussing legal issues is still considered taboo,” said Gus Yasin.
To address this barrier, the Central Java Provincial Government collaborates with several community organizations—such as Aisyiyah, Muslimat, and Fatayat—to encourage residents to report legal problems without hesitation.
With the establishment of 8,563 Legal Aid Posts (Posbankum) in Central Java, the total number of Posbankum nationwide has risen to 70,115—equivalent to 83.51 percent of all 83,953 villages and urban village across Indonesia.
