Jakarta – Head of the Legal Policy Strategy Agency (BSK), Andry Indrady, called on all young Indonesians to continue taking action, innovating, and maintaining unity during the 97th Youth Pledge Day commemoration (Hari Sumpah Pemuda).
Carrying the theme “Youth in Action, United Indonesia,” Andry, who delivered a speech of the Minister of Youth and Sports, Erick Thohir, reminded that national progress is impossible without the active participation of the youth.
“Indonesian youth must continue to take action, create, and innovate to build a more advanced Indonesia,” he said during the Youth Pledge Day Commemoration Ceremony at Graha Pengayoman on Tuesday (October 28, 2025).
According to Andry, the commemoration serves as a reminder of the historic moment on October 28, 1928, which marked the awakening of national consciousness and a shared determination to build a free and united nation beyond regional, ethnic, and language differences.
He also urged Indonesian youth to move beyond being spectators and to take part as agents of change in addressing the challenges of globalization.
“Be adaptive, be creative, and uphold integrity. Channel your intelligence, passion, and talents to advance the nation in every sphere, including education, the economy, the environment, and social affairs,” said Andry.
Andry encouraged the youth to use technology and social media for positive purposes, to spread inspiration, and to refrain from spreading hatred. He also called on the youth to carry the spirit of unity wherever they go.
According to him, the Youth Pledge commemoration is the right moment to reflect on how each person has contributed to the nation’s growth. He believes that today’s generation must take action and be part of the solution to Indonesia’s challenges.
“Remember, the future of this nation lies in our hands. The spirit of the Youth Pledge is not only to be remembered but to be lived. Be the generation that upholds unity, strives for progress, and ignites hope for the nation’s future,” he concluded.
