Bandung – The Ministry of Law is accelerating digitalization to enhance transparency in public services. As part of this effort, the Ministry has begun exploring the use of artificial intelligence (AI) to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of its services.
Secretary-General Nico Afinta said that digital transformation is a shared commitment, led by Minister Supratman Andi Agtas and supported by all parts of the Ministry.
“As the Minister said, one of our biggest goals is to improve public services through digital transformation,” Nico said when opening the Technical Training on the Application of Artificial Intelligence at the Ministry of Law, held in Bandung on Tuesday (November 11, 2025).
Nico explained that the need for human resources with strong digital skills is now unavoidable, especially as technological developments continue to move. He added that improvements in digital infrastructure, systems, and methods are also necessary.
“We need to strengthen the digital knowledge of our personnel. For this training, we are collaborating with the Center for Data and Information Technology (Pusdatin) and PT Telkom. It’s important for us to understand and make use of AI. I believe technological advancements will greatly support the Ministry of Law’s work,” Nico said.
Regarding AI implementation, Syaifudin, Executive Vice President of the Government Service Division at PT Telkom Indonesia (Persero) Tbk., said that Telkom has already begun applying AI at the Ministry of State Secretariat, particularly in legal analytics.
“At Telkom, we have started to implement AI in areas related to law. We also need input from the Ministry of Law so that, as a provider of infrastructure, technology, and platforms, we can refine our solutions and ensure AI is truly beneficial, especially for the Ministry of Law,” Syaifudin said.
Meanwhile, Head of the Center for Data and Information Technology (Pusdatin), Rifqi Adrian Kriswanto, explained that this training is part of the Ministry’s collaboration with PT Telkom Indonesia. A total of 90 participants attended the session, consisting of staff from Pusdatin and the West Java Regional Office of the Ministry.
“This activity supports the Ministry’s priority digital transformation program. The training focuses on the application of artificial intelligence. We hope that by next year, the Ministry can begin implementing AI-based public services and contribute to the vision of Golden Indonesia 2045,” he concluded.
